| Reed and Misiaszek in the Wind
The topic of conversation prior to the race was of sore backs and snow accumulation at the
various locations from the 20+ inch snowstorm on Tuesday. However, Mother Nature
intervened with a couple of days of mild conditions and thus the course was clear with
just a couple of water jumps.
In the men's open division Reed
took control from the gun, racing with Brian Goddu over the opening stretch. This was
Jason's second Snowstorm victory and his third in as many tries (capturing the Greenfield
Winter Carnival Race the week before). The outcome was not settled until the final stretch
as Jonathan Wiener (masters division winner) pushed Reed over the latter stages of the
course. Dave Wright made it two for three for the Harriers with a string third place
showing. The senior division was again locked down by Art Roberts.
Amongst the women it was our own
Mary Misiaszek who took the honors. She finished with a comfortable lead over Colleen
Cummings who garnered second. Rounding out the top three was senior division winner Sue
