Donoghue Joins Hall of Fame;
Gardiner Romps Again
Brian
Donoghue became the newest member of the Snowstorm Classic Hall of
Fame with an 18:44 victory over Bill Rowe (18:52), who garnered 1st
master honors. Times were again slowed by the weather, it’s tough to
run fast on ice and snow. GSHer Steve O’Neil won his umpteenth
senior title in a quick 20:12, with Alan Bohdiewicz the first junior
across the line in 19:45.
Remarkable Heather Gardiner was 3rd, nearly winning her
second consecutive Snowstorm Classic outright. Instead she settled for
another convincing win among the women with a 19:05 effort. Harrier
Carolyn Webber gave chase with an impressive 20:51 performance,
capturing the master blue ribbon in the process. Teammate Mary
Misiaszek was 3rd in 22:37.
