Summer Sizzler #12 - 8K

Records Bonanza for Senior Women:

     The fireworks didn't end after the Fourth of July race, at least not for the senior women. Four age records were set on the 8K course, all by women over the age of 50, including the two oldest women to ever complete the 8K Summer Sizzler course. 
     SMACers Judy Scott and Penelope Chatterton found the eight thousand meters around Forest Park to their liking during their precedent setting race.  Perhaps Penelope found the course a little more to her liking as she crossed the finish line in 51:16 thus establishing a new record for 61 year old women. Shortly thereafter, in 54:29 to be exact, Judy finished to set the mark for 60 year old women.  
     CMSer Mary Ryczek added another record to her Summer Sizzler collection with a 37:15 clocking, a new standard for 55 year old women. Meanwhile Harrier Carol L'Esperance was touring the course in 33:46 to break the record for 51 year old women of 34:19 held by Mary Ryczek the past four years.  
     Harrier Betsy Duquette captured the Sizzler win for the second time this season with a quick 33:02 clocking,  
     Among the men, Harrier Paul Fratini clocked 27:50 to outrun young David Raucci of the visiting Troy Trailblazers (29:07) with venerable GSHer Celio Hernadez 3rd in 29:53.
