Senior Day in the Park
Carlos Rivera zipped up and down the cross country course in 17:55 to win his second Sizzler of the season with Frank
Young (18:45) outracing Peter Fratini (18:52) for place and show respectively.
Betsy Duquette garnered another win with a quick 23:02 to top Marylou White (26:15) and Heather McLaughlin (32:53).
But it was the seniors who stole the show as three new age records was set by the AARP crowd. Venerable Harrier Doug
Blanchard notched his 11th consecutive record and 14th overall on the
cross country course with a 27:57 clocking as a 75 year old. He also is
the first male of any age to set a new record this season.
Among the women, two visiting Sugarloafer's established new age marks. Penelope Chatterton scampered over the Forest Park
trails in 33:23 to set a record for sixty-one year old women while Judy Scott
followed shortly thereafter in 38:02 to set a record for sixty year old
