                         Rivera and Goyette Repeat

            On a picture perfect day, Carlos Rivera and Candy Goyette each decisively won their second Summer Sizzler victory of the season.
            Carlos simply out ran the field in 27:15 to post his 37th overall Sizzler win and is rapidly closing in on list leader and local running legend Celio Hernandez. (See the Summer Sizzler Hall of Fame for the complete list of previous winners.) SMACer Rich Clark soloed in second with a 30:23 to gain master honors while Stan Kolpa of the famed Harrier Senior Men’s Team took the senior title with a 3rd place 32:40 clocking.
            Candy took nearly two minutes off her winning time at the Barney Day Race (the Summer Sizzler opener) with a solid 33:43 effort. Ageless Mary Ryczek added individual age record number fourteen on the 8K course with an impressive 36:07, breaking Doris Aronson’s 37:17 record for 56 year old women set nearly fourteen years ago.
            And the Johnson clan returned, faster then ever after a week of reportedly super secret training.  Eight year old Calvin became the youngest finisher ever on the course with 49:54 sprint to the finish, while nine year old Shannon knocked almost eight full minute off her record setting time of two weeks ago, touring the Forest Park roads in 50:28 to nip dad James at the wire.
