Dennis Roche leads Teenagers
Elizabeth Duquette Reaches 40
The younger crowd returned to the cross country course as three
teenagers swept the top three spots. Dennis Roche became the 112th
member of the Summer Sizzler Hall of Fame, and
the 16 year old did so in impressive fashion, racing over the five
thousand meters of ForestPark trails in 17:59. Jesse Regnier
of the Fast Feet Track Club gave chase in a quick 18:43 to capture 2nd
while Mike Bagge took the bronze medal with a 19:33
clocking.
Although no match for the speedy youngin’s, Martin
LaChapelle was the best master in 21:29 while Brian Goddu won senior
honors in 23:15.
Elizabeth Duquette won her 4th women’s
title of the season in 23:55 as the Harrier mainstay increased her
Hall of Fame leading win total to an impressive 40 while enjoying
another beautiful day in Forest Park. Fifteen year old Danielle
Laliberte was 2nd in 25:02 while sixteen year old Catie
Walsh was 3rd in 26:19.
Traveling all the way from Missouri, sixty-two year old Bill Lobdell
chugged around the course in 29:47. The St. Louis Track Club
member runs in their Forest Park which is similar to ours
"except for the hills."
