             Dennis Roach Repeats; Mary Ferraro Wins #11

           Dennis Roach returned to the Harrier cross country course for a crack at an age record, but after rocketing through the first two kilometers, the sixteen year old Cathedral High speedster was stymied by the unrelenting humidity canvassing the region. He did hang on for his second Sizzler title in a solo 18:33. Harrier David Estabrook completed a teenage one-two punch with a 20:02 clocking. Doug Guertin finished 3rd in 20:41.  Mike Montemagni (21:17) and Stan Kolpa (22:21) won the master and senior titles respectively for the home team.  
           Mary Ferraro, Mary Misiaszek and Elizabeth Duquette have won all the Summer Sizzlers so far this year, thus, with all three GSH teammates toeing the starting line, it was a safe bet one of them would prevail again.  Odds on favorite Mary Ferraro did not disappoint the Las Vegas bookies as she cruised over the roller coaster course in a quick 21:27.  Mary Misiaszek took the silver medal in 23:13 by edging master’s winner Elizabeth Duquette who clocked 23:25.
