Still starting the race on
time. Brian Goddu skillfully marked the course with flour arrows
so that no harrier would get lost this week.
Overcast skies and a temperature of 54 degrees
welcomed the 14 brave runners who showed up to run the tough 5K cross
country course. Master harrier Elvin
Torres (21:07) showed the field that he was the fastest and
toughest by coming in first followed by senior harrier Rich
Clark (21:18) close behind. EORC’s Mike
Butler (21:57) broke up the harrier sweep by coming in third and
out running harrier senior Al
Cabot (24:38).
First female HTC’s Melany
Westwell (25:11) was trailed by second place female harrier Karen
LaForge (26:55). First veteran EORC’s Bob
Massaro (26:40) was only off by 20 seconds to win the weekly
predicted time. Harrier president Pete
Stasz (30:18) showed SMAC’s Don
Grant (30:34) who the king of the hill was this week by charging
up the finish.
A special thank you to the volunteers of the week Brian
Goddu, Colleen Cummings, Joe Fois and Bruce
Kurtz.
