Hegarty Wins Second Summer Sizzler
Harriers Take Top Eight Spots and Hopfe Sets Age Record

 Harrier Joe Hegarty secured his second win for the 2006 Summer Sizzlers Series with a blazing time of 26:26. Still running under 5:30 minute per mile pace was harrier Carlos Rivera (27:15) followed by harrier Joe Fois (30:15) finishing in third place. First place senior finisher and finishing fourth overall was harrier Steve O’Neil (31:45) and first female was harrier Meaghan Mathews (31:55) followed by harrier Heather Wenninger (32:14). Senior Harrier Seth Roberts (32:26) finished seventh overall followed by third place female and eighth overall harrier Kelly Joyce (32:29).

 First master female was harrier Barbara Bosworth (39:08) and first master male was Kevin McCarthy (41:12). First junior male was nineteen year old Zachary Santa Maria (41:21). First veteran was 63 year old EORC’er Dan Lynes (42:12).

66 year old harrier Winnie Hopfe set her age record today with a time of 48:15, Congratulations Winnie!

First junior female was fourteen year old Jennifer Ruddick (49:13).

 The weather was nice in the upper 70’s with little humidity.

 Only 1 race left for the 2006 Summer Sizzlers Series. After the final race on Wednesday, August 30 everyone is invited for pizza at Red Rose.
