The only real surprise at the 2^nd annual Chazzy B’z road race was the fact that three of the top five finishers were named Thomas. Home town hero Dave Hanechak toured the familiar Chicopee streets in 27:00 to easily repeat as the winner. Junior Tom Bousquet gave chase for second in 27:58, while Amherst’s Bob Rosen took 3^rd and won the master’s division in 30:25.

Kim Wundt wasn’t quite as familiar with the local byways, and unfortunately missed a turn while leading the women’s race. Susan Pease, who negotiated the proper five miles of the course, thus emerged the winner in 35:24 while the errant Ms. Wundt was second in 35:50. Bright sunshine and warm weather, although tough during the race, made the delicious repast put on by the host establishment, Chazzy B’z, all the more enjoyable.
