Snowstorm Classic #03 - 5K December 21th, 2013 Krasemann duo of Daniel and Beth take top honors |

Just a year removed from the last season's opener, Daniel and Beth return from record setting performances to again make their mark. This time around the 12 year Springfield Harrier not only sets another record coming in a 18:18 (previously held by fellow GSH'er Bill Carroll 18:57) but also leads all striders in the overall general classification. Matriarch Beth also repeats last year's top showing leading all females in an equally impressive 20:12, 9th overall. With racer-friendly temperatures floating somewhere in the mid 40's and dry roads, runners were sure to give the Snowstorm Classic age records a bit of a haircut. Sure enough ageless wonders Jim Reis (SMAC age 69 21:11), Lyn Walker (GSH age 73 24:58) and Betty Quinn (25:00) all clip seconds away from the best marks. 138 runners in all took advantage of an absolutely beautiful day, getting in one last race before x-mas. Many donned Santa hats. Some even partaking in Christmas Carol. Enjoy your holiday. Many warm wishes for you and your family this year-end. You'll notice at the bottom of the results I've added team scoring. No awards, just for bragging rights. Maybe one of the races near the end of the season can be designated as the club competition race?
