Brian Fuller cruises and Jackie Evan repeats
more records falls as Peter Gagarin and Kathy Furlani set new marks

Hawaiian Shirt Run... a name more suiting for the unseasonable mild tempatures. The weather has been anything but 'Classic' SnowStorm. Apart from the prior 10k this season, this has been a dream season for runners in training. Fast times and new age records marks have been the norm and this week was no different. Pater Gagarin's 44:22 takes down Roland Cormier's age 67 mark by a heatly margin as does Kathy Furlani's 51:25 at age 63. Jackie Evans notches her third victory of the season leading all female harriers in 40:39 in a tight 1-2-3 finish. In fact the top five women posted the best times of the season to date. Perhaps top honors should go to young Greater Springfield Harrier Brian Fuller who ran clear of the field in 32:52. I had to check all the way back to Jan 2001 to find another sub 33 minute effort on the challenging 10k course. Also worth noting the Springfield College Grad Student just ran a facility best 8:30 3k at the Bowdoin College last weekend.
