Liz Crowley Repeats, Cameron Cook claims first win
Lyn Walker and Dick Osgood establish new age records

The Snowstorm Classic rolls along with the first of six 10k's. Yes we're 10 days deep into December although the thermometer seems stuck to an earlier time of season. No need to bundle into high tech thermo gear just yet. Those craving for a true Snowstorm Classic will have to wait a bit longer. Patience. Winter proper is only 11 days ahead.

For now the fleet of feet can rejoice. Mid 30s, little wind and clear dry pavement. This is as good as it gets in New England on a early December morn'. Cameron Cook and Liz Crowley took full vantage posting the top times overall. Liz is two for two this season having won last week's 5k. Cameron bettered last week's 2nd place edging out Marc Robasco over the last mile. Harrier Bill Wheeler rounded out the top three for the men. Kelsey Battige was a close 2nd and Harrier Jenny Richard completed the top 3 for the women

Likewise veteran runners Dick Osgood and Lyn Walker made good use of the excellent conditions establishing new age records.


Today was also the annual USATF National Club Cross Country Championship at Jefferson Golf Course in Seattle, WA.
The Greater Springfield Harriers were represented in fantastic fashion with a stellar scoring as 2nd place team in the fiercely competitive Men's Master 10k race. Sandu Rebenciuc made his Harrier return in style, posting 2nd overall! Francis Brudett and Mike Nahom placed 13th and 14th overall; Kent Lemme, Mike LeMay and Ed Parrot all ran strong for the team while Chief Harrier Pete Stasz showed remarkable durability and longevity improving upon his near-to-dead last place last year, leap frog'ng a full 4 spots clear of the last man to finish in Seattle...way to go Pete!
